The 2005 Event

The Sept 2005 event started out as a party to celebrate 25 years since I moved to California and grew into more of a general 70s Holloway reunion. I came up with names of people I remembered from long ago and in turn they invited friends and friends of friends. We ended up with just over 90 people spread across much of the decade.

We started with an informal picnic/get together on tables outside the new Union building where we could take advantage of what was left of a gorgeous sunny day to see exactly how well we'd all survived the intervening years!

About 8 we migrated into Tommy's Bar in the new Union building where more people joined us and loud music and crap beer flowed just as in times gone by. Quite a few people showed they could still bop given the right musical inspiration and at least one of them wanted a photograph to show their kids they could go clubbing too!

Quite a few of us were staying in the new "new halls" so the conversation migrated down the hill when the bar closed and went on into the not so early hours.

Based on comments on the night, and email received after, everyone had a great time and would like to do it again in the not too distant future. Also based on email that came in there are quite a few people who would have liked to be there who are keen to come to another one soon. Stay tuned!
